Q: How long have you been the President and Owners of Rug'it Cleaning?
A: We've been in business over ten years.
Q: What was the first job you ever had?
A: Prior to starting this business, I was in the culinary industry as a Chef and consultant.
Q: What is the most satisfying aspect of your work?
A: Hearing from our customers. We have over 500+ five-star reviews and every one of them matters to us.
Q: Explain what you do in five words or less.
A: Clean, Restore or Replace!
Q: What money (or career) advice do you wish you could give your 18-year-old self?
A: Start an investment and retirement account as soon as you can and take advantage of your employer's matching plans.
Q: Name one thing about your job that most people would be surprised to hear.
A: We serve on a number of community boards. Our core value is service; not just in our work but in our community.
Q: Where do you see your industry heading in the next 10 years?
A: I think it'll go back to craftsmanship -- consumers will value more quality product like real hardwood floors versus luxury vinyl that looks like "wood" or hand-knotted natural fiber rugs versus inexpensive rugs.
Q: If you could give your clients only one piece of advice what would it be?
A: Purchase quality product that, with maintenance, lasts decades. Floor covering trends may change but quality carpets, rugs or hardwood are worth the investment with a maintenance plan.
Q: What big projects do you have coming up in the next 12-months either personally or professionally?
A: We're planning on expanding our rug facility in the next couple years.
Q: Why should someone choose a CPA instead of doing their own work?
A: As a business owner, I always share with new entrepreneurs to hire a CPA -- one of the first people you want on your side. A reputable CPA who will help you avoid tax issues and help you grow.
Q: The mountains, the beach, or the desert?
A: Mountains.
Q: What other interests/hobbies are you passionate about?
A: Scouting. I'm a den leader for my youngest. We love the outdoors! I also take part every year in building the Biggest Gingerbread Village in Long Beach. 500+ pounds of sugar candyland that I bake, assemble and decorate for the Holiday season.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like people to know about you?
A: I enjoy taking road trips with my family.
